#12 Tree of Life

A 400-year-old mystery makes the Tree of Life a popular wonder in Bahrain. Localsbelieve that the tree, standing alone in the vast desert area of Zallaq is blessed by the water Goddess, Enki. Scientists, on the other hand, suggest that the roots of this age-old tree spread far and wide to absorb water from the reserves.

However, no one really knows how the tree has stood strong through the passage of time and the lack of water sources in the oil fields that surround it. While uncertainties about the tree’s longevity still puzzle many of its visitors, the Tree of Life is a survivor, a spot of greenery in the midst of a barren desert, with a welcoming vibe for visitors.
