Bahrain records 2,803 new COVID-19 cases from 19,163 tests

Out of 19,163 COVID-19 tests carried out on 26 May 2021, 2,803 new cases have been detected among 1,125 expats. 1,671 are contacts and 7 travel related.

There were 1,493 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 199,713.

Sixteen deaths were recorded among six male citizens aged 72, 65, 89, 80, 66 and 56; six female citizens aged 64, 50, 36, 71, 68 and 54; one male expat aged 38; three female expats aged 42, 40, and 60.

No further information was provided on whether they suffered any pre-existing medical conditions.

There are currently 233 cases in critical condition and 468 receiving treatment. 25,588 are stable out of a total of 25,821 active cases.
