The Ministry of Health announced that registration is open for the booster vaccination in those aged 60 and above and the immunocompromised who have been fully vaccinated for at least six months with Pfizer-BioNTech or AstraZeneca (Covishield).
Registration can be done through the Ministry of Health’s website or the BeAware app.
Those who qualify for the booster dose can choose between the Pfizer vaccine or the same vaccine taken for their first and second doses.
The National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) previously announced that starting from 1 October 2021, the vaccination status of individuals eligible for a booster shot will change on the BeAware Bahrain application from the Green Shield to the Yellow Shield until they opt to receive a booster shot.
