The First Three Months of 2022 Saw Bahrain Record a 984% Increase in Tourists!

Tourism in Bahrain has witnessed an all-new feat! The number of tourists arriving in Bahrain has increased to a whopping 984% in the first three months of 2022. This is in comparison to the same period in 2021. In the first quarter of last year, the Kingdom received around 152,000 visitors. This number went up by a lot, approximately 1.7 million, at the beginning of this year.

The findings were published by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) has also recorded an increase in revenue. From BD 30 million in the first quarter of 2021, earnings went up to BD 292 million in 2022!

Over 1.5 million tourists have entered Bahrain through the King Fahd Causeway. The Bahrain International Airport, on the other hand, recorded 166,000 incoming visitors.

A boom in hospitality

Hotels, apartments, restaurants, and tour companies catering in the Kingdom have risen in the one-year period from 721 to 922.

The fastest recovery since COVID-19

Bahrain has reportedly experienced an accelerated rate of tourism recovery after lifting COVID-related tourism restrictions, as per findings in a study published by money.co.uk earlier this month.
