A Magnifique Stay at Sofitel Dubai Downtown!

I’m well aware that the vast majority of our readers travel to Dubai on a regular basis – come to think of it, it’s nice to know that the glamorous Emirate of Dubai is only a short 60-minute flight away…

it makes it an ideal place to get away for a weekend. That said (and I’m not complaining when I say this), you are totally spoiled for choice with hotels, restaurants and events etc. It makes it hard to pin down where to go. I’d like to share my review on the Sofitel Dubai Downtown hotel, you know that with the brand Sofitel you’re going to have a luxurious stay and be looked after – and this time I was seriously impressed!

Les Cuisines

Upon arrival around noon time, whilst being greeted with genuine smiles, you notice a beautiful grand piano in the lobby being played by a professional which gave a solid first impression walking into the place, amongst its chic high-end decor. After a smooth, fast check-in procedure I was guided to my room which was on the 24th floor – I was super happy about this as I love a good view. My room was east facing which gave a great view including The Burj Khalifa and Dubai Canal. I was surprised to find a kind hand-written welcoming note on my bed – what a touch!

I don’t think you could get a better location for a hotel even if you tried to. Sofitel Dubai Downtown is connected to the metro station , The Dubai Mall and a short walk from the Canal, tourist areas around the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Downtown is the heart of the city/ Emirates. Whilst it’s in the city centre, it’s a real relaxation haven. The pool terrace area is simply stunning. It’s one of those places whereby you instantly whip your phone out and take photos for Instagram/Snapchat! I should add that there’s an infinity pool overlooking world leading architecture and an exotic bar serving delicious beverages all day.

Now most importantly – food. A full range of delicacies from progressive Indian to Peruvian to Lebanese-Armenian and from traditional French cuisine to Asian specialities and Arabic dishes with a twist were available. It’s safe to say there’s a real diverse choice of restaurants in the hotel. My favorites were Les Cuisines and the Lebanese restaurant Al Mayass. Les Cuisines cooks up a mean breakfast and breakfast is my favourite meal of the day… well, it is when it’s the weekend or when I’m in a hotel (It’s just a protein smoothie otherwise!). The Les Cuisines breakfast offers a wide choice of quality traditional and regional bites, also upon arrival, you’ll be offered a small shot glass of special juice filled with vitamins and goodness for the busy day ahead.

Sofitel Dubai Downtown sets a new standard for urban sophistication and refined luxury with a Magnifique commitment to service and French elegance.

Whether you are heading to Dubai on business or pleasure – this is an excellent place to stay. Dubai is a fast-paced and sometimes stressful place to be when you’re there on business, but after my few days at Sofitel Dubai Downtown and when I was heading back to the airport – I felt totally refreshed.
