Hilton Bahrain Partners With Peninsula Farms To Reduce Food Wastage

Building on its commitment to sustainability, Hilton Bahrain, announced the extension of its partnership with Peninsula Farms to further reduce food waste and support the local agricultural sector. This collaboration is a part of Hilton’s Green Ramadan initiative, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Winnow, aimed at minimizing food wastage during the holy month of Ramadan.

By partnering with Peninsula Farms, a local agricultural company dedicated to advancing Bahrain’s agricultural sector and promoting self-sustainability in local fresh produce, Hilton Bahrain aims to contribute to the nation’s goals while making a positive impact on the community.

Through this extended partnership, Hilton Bahrain will donate its inedible food waste to Peninsula Farms, which will then convert it into compost. This donation not only helps to minimize food waste and carbon emissions but also supports the development of sustainable agricultural practices in Bahrain. By diverting food waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable compost, Hilton Bahrain and Peninsula Farms are actively contributing to the circular economy and promoting a more sustainable future.

“We are proud to extend our collaboration with Peninsula Farms as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability. By redirecting our food waste to composting, we are taking proactive steps to reduce our environmental footprint and support the local agricultural sector.

Tamer Farouk, General Manager of Hilton Bahrain

Hilton Bahrain’s partnership with Peninsula Farms aligns with the company’s broader sustainability goals and its dedication to corporate social responsibility. By actively participating in initiatives that tackle food waste and promote sustainable practices, Hilton Bahrain continues to set an example for the hospitality industry and inspire positive change within the community.
