French luxury fashion and beauty brand, CHANEL opened its first boutique in Bahrain, at the Marassi Galleria mall, showcasing Fashion, Watches & Fine Jewelry, and Fragrance & Beauty.
The highly anticipated boutique, spanning 700 square meters on the mall’s first floor, is home to the latest CHANEL Ready-to-Wear collections by Creative Director Virginie Viard, as well as bags, shoes, eyewear and accessories.
The Watches and Fine Jewellery area presents an exclusive selection of timepieces such as Première, J12 and BOY·FRIEND as well as Fine Jewellery creations including the iconic COCO CRUSH, N°5 and Camelia collections. A selection of High Jewellery and Haute Horlogerie is also set to be presented.
Accessible via a dedicated entrance, an adjacent CHANEL Fragrance & Beauty boutique presents the House’s fragrance, make-up and skincare ranges, including the LES EXCLUSIFS de CHANEL, SUBLIMAGE, and 31 LE ROUGE lines. A lounge area invites lingering, with a private beauty room also available for testing the make-up.
In this project, the New York-based architect and long-term collaborator, Peter Marino, reinterprets House codes for a renewed perspective on the timeless modernity and allure of CHANEL. The boutique’s striking façade integrates contrasting black marble, white stone, and mirrors symbolizing its three divisions, while the sophisticated black and white decor exudes a subtle Art Deco ambience, enriched by opulent antiqued gold accents.
Visitors are immediately immersed in the world of accessories. Two dedicated salons showcase an array of iconic and novel handbags, complemented by a curated selection of shoes, costume jewellery, eyewear, scarves, and small leather goods. The journey unfolds into the shoe department featuring elegant seating areas.
This sophisticated ambience seamlessly extends to an inviting Ready-to-Wear salon and fitting room. Within this intimate and convivial setting, guests can discover pieces from the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2024 pre-collection, a tribute to the Nouvelle Vague. An adjacent private salon and fitting room provide a discreet space for personalized service.
Showcasing a full array of the House’s iconic collections, the Watches & Fine Jewelry dedicated space is also adjoined by an appointed salon, with tweed sofas and elegant decorative touches such as folding screens in the spirit of Mademoiselle Chanel’s private apartment on Rue Cambon in Paris.
Continuing the House’s enduring dedication to the arts, a tradition traced back to Mademoiselle Chanel, the boutique’s decor is further enhanced with an artwork by Alicja Kwade as well as a sculptural urn by Johan Creten. Additionally, the Fashion salon’s fitting rooms feature two captivating artworks by Alastair Gordon.
The range of services extends to personalized one-on-one appointments, along with alteration, repair, and restoration services facilitated by the House’s dedicated centre in Dubai. Mall-provided valet parking adds a touch of convenience.
This new CHANEL boutique seamlessly blends elegance with a contemporary sensibility, paying homage to the House’s rich history. It promises clients an unforgettable shopping experience within Bahrain’s most prestigious mall.
