Burj Khalifa lights up in honour of the late Kuwait Emir

Dubai memorialised the passing of the late Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah by displaying his profile on the Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world, which lit up in tribute to the Amir.

The image of the late Amir was projected onto the building in black and white, Gulf News reported.

This was on the day after the death of the 91-year-old Ruler, who was buried in Kuwait. Kuwait’s leader for over 50 years passed away on Tuesday in the US, where he was undergoing treatment.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah took the constitutional oath and became the 16th Amir of Kuwait.
