Fiesta de los Muertos returns to Autism Rocks Arena on the 27th of October for a one-of-a-kind music concert. Headlining band Gorillaz will make the sugar skull-shaped stage shake with the virtual group’s biggest hits. Other performers include Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen, British hip-hop artist Stromzy, Mexican band The Mariachis, Lebanese-Canadian R&B singer Massari, plus Dubai’s own Arcade 82.

Fashion Forward

Where: Design Quarter, Dubai Design District

A highlight of the Middle Eastern fashion calendar, Fashion Forward showcases the region’s best-known and up-and-coming designers on the global stage. Held on 26th to 28th October, the stylish event attracts the Gulf’s chicest style set, international models, and the who’s who of the Arab fashion world. The tenth season of Fashion Forward also welcomes a new home venue, with more than 25 designers moving their runway shows and presentations to Design Quarter, in Dubai Design District (d3).

Status Quo: Last Night of the Electrics Final Tour

Where: Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai

Send off the iconic British band in style, with their Last Night of the Electrics final tour hitting the Dubai Opera. The classical music hall will be transformed into a rock and roll gig, with Status Quo’s Francis Rossi, Andrew Brown, John Edwards, Leon Cave and Richie Malone taking to the stage for one of their very last performances. Expect to hear favourites from the UK group live, including ‘Down, Down’, ‘Whatever You Want’, and the classic anthem ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’, and cheer for a fitting finale to their six decade-spanning career. Doors open at 7:30pm on the 27th of October.

Ghost the Musical

Where: Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai

This 9th to 13th of October, the award-winning musical Ghost is coming to Dubai Opera’s stage. Based on the 1990 film of the same name, Bruce Joel Rubin has adapted his Oscar-winning screenplay for this musical, which premiered in Manchester in 2011, and has been performed in London’s West End and New York’s Broadway. Since then, it’s been nominated for five Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.

Swan Lake

Where: Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai

Dubai Opera welcomes the Houston Ballet for six performances of one of the most popular ballets of all time – Swan Lake. The ballet tells the story of a beautiful maiden who is transformed into a swan by an evil knight. It was first performed in Moscow in 1877. A live orchestra will be playing Tchaikovsky’s original score, while the acclaimed Australian dancer Stanton Welch has choreographed the ballet. The performance will be available from 24th to 27th of October.

Taj Express

Where: Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai

Taj Express, the internationally acclaimed musical, will be coming to Dubai Opera’s stage this 16th to 20th October. The musical tells the story of Shankar, a young composer who dreams of working in the movies, and follows his life as he struggles to break into the film industry. Audiences can expect to see colourful costumes and breathtaking dance sequences, as the glitz and glamour of Bollywood comes to Dubai.
