Staycation Bahrain: The Jumeirah Royal Saray Experience

With great expectation, the Jumeirah Royal Saray hotel opened in February 2018 and has already positioned itself as one of the foremost 5 star properties in Bahrain. Bahrain Confidential was invited to spend two days at the hotel to fully experience the quality of its facilities, services and ambience.

The hotel’s architecture distinguishes it from most others in the city with distinctly Arabian themes throughout, combined thoughtfully with a most elegant array of marble, glass, furniture and art. This combination is immediately apparent on entering the hotel lobby, the centrepiece of all great hotels, where the bright and luxurious surroundings perfectly frame a view of the Arabian Gulf across the entire breadth of the centre of the hotel; stunning to say the least.

As one progresses from this area to the rest of the property, the architect’s vision is played out before you with beautiful lighting, asymmetric purple carpeting, interesting pieces of art and dynamic lighting.

Finally entering our room, at 67m2 certainly one of the largest standard rooms we have ever stayed in, the attention to detail is fully apparent, with an even more perfect view of the sea and the hotels extensive outside facilities. The technology in the room, from the lighting to the Audio Visual systems, including a magnificent 65”TV, is perfectly blended into the décor and works without fault. Of particular note was the internet access which was painless to access and, by far, one of the fastest we have ever experienced.

Venturing outside, the true nature of the property, as a resort hotel, is clear to see. The huge swimming pool dominates this area and leads down to a beautifully manicured beach where the latest water sports can be found to keep both adults and children fully occupied during their stay. Surrounding the pool are 6 private cabanas that can accommodate up to eight people and offer a private washroom, shower and sitting areas, both indoor and outside, which certainly deliver a unique beachfront experience here in Bahrain.

Our report would not be complete without mention of the quality of food and service delivered by the Chef and his team, everything we tried was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.

This culinary experience was crowned by the amazing pastries created under the direction of Remi Martinazzo, the Executive Pastry Chef, a feast for sore eyes and most definitely too tempting!

We had the opportunity to discuss the ongoing expansion of the property with Moustafa El Gaya, the Director of Food and Beverage, who provided an insight into the features that will be coming online throughout the next 12 months as the full scope of the project comes into operation. New outlets, a Cuban Cigar Lounge and a Gourmet Burger Lounge to name but two, along with a further 90 rooms, exclusive summer houses, Royal Residences and a vast 700m2 Penthouse – the Jumeirah Royal Saray story continues; we very much look forward to the next chapter!
