Wynn Al Marjan Island, the highly anticipated resort situated along the coastline of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, has released the first images of its guest accommodations. Scheduled to open in early 2027, the development offers a preview of the bespoke design approach shaping its 1,530 rooms, suites, and villas.
For travellers from Bahrain, Ras Al Khaimah offers a compelling alternative to the UAE’s more familiar destinations. The emirate’s growing popularity as a leisure destination has also encouraged the development of direct travel options and tailored visitor experiences.
Once there, you will find an atmosphere distinct from the towering skylines of Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Ras Al Khaimah, often described as the UAE’s most picturesque emirate, blends dramatic mountainous backdrops with tranquil stretches of coastline and sprawling desert landscapes. It is a destination where ancient forts, lush mangroves, and golden beaches meet modern resorts, offering a blend of outdoor adventure, heritage exploration, and luxurious relaxation.
At the upcoming Resort, the interiors have been conceptualised and executed by Wynn Design & Development, the brand’s award-winning in-house design team responsible for its global portfolio.
Each accommodation reflects Wynn’s signature principles of elegance, functionality, and a deep sense of intentionality, tailored specifically for the landmark destination.
The Resort King room features a unique, dedicated entry vestibule that separates the sleeping quarters from the corridor — a departure from the typical open-plan layout seen in many contemporary resorts. This deliberate design enhances guest privacy and reinforces the room’s residential feel.
Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping views of the Arabian Gulf. Arched forms, reflective surfaces, and layered textures define a sculptural aesthetic inspired by the region’s artistic and cultural heritage, with nods to the elegance and detailing of 18th- and 19th-century design.
The interiors express Wynn’s signature design philosophy: elevated, intuitive and emotionally resonant. Custom lighting and mirrored accents echo the rhythm of the sea: calm, curated and deeply felt. Warm tones evoke a strong sense of place, while bathrooms with double vanities, walk-in showers and freestanding soaking tubs extend the retreat into every corner.
“Designing Wynn Al Marjan Island meant honouring a remarkable legacy while building something entirely distinctive for this region,” said Todd-Avery Lenahan, President & Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design & Development. “These rooms are rooted in the language of Wynn but reinterpreted for this oceanfront experience. They’re a beautiful expression of form and function influenced by Ras Al Khaimah’s natural beauty.”
Set across more than 60 hectares, Wynn Al Marjan Island will also showcase 24 restaurants offering fine, casual, and social dining, a five-star spa, a Shopping Parterre highlighting world-class designer boutiques, an expansive poolscape of 12 pools surrounded by well-appointed cabanas and lush gardens, private deep-water marina accommodating luxury vessels up to 75 meters, 420-meter private white-sand beach, and signature Wynn entertainment. Construction is on schedule for an early 2027 opening.
