Woman infects 21 other people spanning 3 generations in Bahrain

According to the Ministry of Health’s contact tracing data, a 58-year-old female citizen tested positive through random community screening. An additional 21 positive cases across 8 different households were detected through contact tracing.

The new cases – spanning over 3 generations – are mostly family related but included a few of the index case’s friends, who had interacted with one another during an Ashura gathering.

Sixteen of the detected cases had direct contact with the index case, whereas the remaining 5 were of secondary infection.
