Winter Markets in Bahrain 2026: Festive Fairs to Visit This December

Winter Markets in Bahrain 2026: Festive Fairs to Visit This December

For most of the year, life in Bahrain happens indoors. Summer pushes everyone into air-conditioned malls, cafés and living rooms, and plans are built around the next cool space rather than at open-air markets.

Then the weather turns. By December the evenings are mild, the humidity has eased, and the island starts spending its time outside again. Gardens fill up, terraces reopen, and weekends stretch into long afternoons that drift well into the evening.

Winter is also when Bahrain reconnects. Friends who have barely crossed paths since spring finally make plans, families head out together, and community calendars start to fill. It’s the season for browsing stalls with a hot drink in hand, bumping into neighbours and letting the children run off to the games while the adults catch up.

Winter markets and festive fairs sit right at the heart of all this. Handmade gifts from local makers, food stalls, carnival games, live music and plenty of seasonal cheer, often all in one place on the same afternoon.

We’ve rounded up the markets and fairs confirmed so far for December. Stay tuned to this space as we’ll keep updating new markets and fairs as they are announced.

Friday | 4 December

Nadeen Festive Fair

Nadeen School’s Festive Fair runs on Friday, 4 December from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, with games, activities, food and gifts for the whole family.

The school is opening its doors for a daytime fair aimed at families and friends. Expect games and activities to keep children busy, along with treats, food stalls and gift stands for anyone getting a head start on festive shopping. The midday timing makes it easy to fit in before other weekend plans.

  • Date: Friday | 4 December
  • Time: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Venue: Nadeen School

MNS Festive Fayre

The annual MNS Festive Fayre takes place on Friday, 4 December from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with food vendors, carnival games and live performances.

This yearly school fayre runs from the afternoon into the evening, so visitors get cooler temperatures and a livelier atmosphere once the sun goes down. Food vendors, carnival games and live performances are all on the programme, with plenty to keep families entertained. It starts just as the Nadeen fair winds down, so it’s possible to do both on the same day.

Vendor registrations are currently open for businesses hoping to take a stall.

  • Date: Friday | 4 December
  • Time: 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Venue: MNS School Bahrain

Saturday | 5 December

Market Street Winter Market

Market Street Bahrain’s Winter Market is at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel’s ballroom on Saturday, 5 December from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and entry is free.

This one is all about local talent. The market brings together Bahrain-based makers, artists, designers and small businesses under one roof, with stalls covering art, fashion, homeware, food and more. It’s a good option for anyone who wants gifts with a bit of personality, or simply likes the idea of their money going to homegrown brands.

Being indoors, it also works well for anyone who’d rather shop without thinking about the weather.

Vendor registrations are open for local businesses interested in taking part.

  • Date: Saturday | 5 December
  • Time: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Venue: Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, Ballroom

Tips for Visiting Winter Markets in Bahrain

A little planning goes a long way at busy seasonal events.

  • Go early for the best pick. Handmade pieces and small-batch food can sell out well before closing time.
  • Carry some cash. Not every stall will take card payments, so it helps to have a backup.
  • Bring a light layer. December evenings can feel cooler than expected, especially at events that run past sunset.
  • Parking plan. School fairs tend to draw big crowds, so arriving a little ahead of the start time can save a long walk.
  • Bring a reusable bag. It makes carrying gifts, treats and impulse buys much easier.
