When is the Hijri New Year holiday in Bahrain?

Ahmed Al-Fateh Mosque is located in Manama, Bahrain's capital, and is part of an Islamic center. The center includes the mosque, a department for Qur'anic studies and an Islamic library. Construction work of Ahmed Al-Fateh Center began in 1984. It was opened in 1988 by the late Amir of Bahrain, Sheikh Issa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. The mosque occupies an area of 6,500 square meters and it can accommodate up to 7000 worshippers. Daily congregational prayers as well as Friday prayers are held at the mosque.

Bahrain has announced a public holiday on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa issued a circular today regarding the Hijri New Year holiday.

The circular stated that the Kingdom’s ministries, agencies and official institutions will be closed on Thursday, 20 August 2020, corresponding to the 1st of Muharram.
