The second weekend of Ramadan in Bahrain feels busier in the best way. Evenings stretch a little longer, plans fall into place, and there’s more happening across the island than you can realistically fit into one night.
From floodlit horse racing and community runs to lively Ramadan markets, theatre-side festivities, desert coffee stops and thought-provoking art exhibitions, this weekend offers a mix of energy and reflection. Whether you’re heading out with family, meeting friends after Iftar, or carving out some solo time, there’s something worth stepping out for.
Ramadan racing returns this weekend with yet another race meeting! Watch the horses thunder around the track under floodlights, with marquee events including the HH Sh. Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup and HM The King’s Cup. It’s a spectacular evening out.

Swap your usual Friday plans for something that gets your heart rate up and gives back at the same time. Pace for Purpose brings the community together for a 40-minute outdoor run or walk this Ramadan, turning every step into meaningful support for a local cause. For every participant, Al Haraka Baraka will donate BHD 3 to the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.

The outdoor grounds of the Bahrain National Theatre transform into one of the city’s liveliest Ramadan destinations. Live performances, interactive activities, and a spread of food options make it a go-to spot for the whole family. Come for the atmosphere, stay for the evening.

If you’re looking for somewhere lively to spend your Ramadan evenings, Al Baraha Nights Festival brings together shopping, street food, live entertainment and family-friendly fun in one vibrant setting. Expect a mix of traditional touches and modern flair, with daily competitions and prizes adding to the buzz. It’s designed for all ages, whether you’re browsing, dining, or simply soaking up the atmosphere.

For something truly unique, head out to IlBarza Café at the Tree of Life. There’s something quietly remarkable about sipping coffee beside a 400-year-old tree growing alone in the desert. It’s open until midnight throughout the season, making it a great late-evening stop.

Running throughout the holy month, the Ramadan Bazaar at The Avenues brings together a carefully chosen selection of abayas, jalabiyas, perfumes, bakhoor, accessories, and jewellery all under one roof. It’s a good one to visit at your own pace.
If you’re after a slower pace, Roast Camp offers exactly that. Set within the Budaiya Botanical Garden, it’s a relaxed spot to settle in with good coffee and something sweet, with the greenery doing most of the work.

Running until 15 April, this exhibition at the Bahrain National Museum offers a thoughtful look at the country’s modern history through archival photographs and personal documents. It’s the kind of exhibition that rewards a quiet visit and a little time to linger.

At Al Riwaq Art Space, artist Ola Znad explores ideas of place, memory, and belonging in a solo exhibition that stays with you. If you appreciate contemporary art with real depth, this one is worth making time for.

This year’s Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition turns its focus to one of the Kingdom’s most prominent historical figures, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. The exhibition traces the human, administrative and literary dimensions of his life, offering a closer look at his writings, travels and contributions to society.
Through carefully curated artefacts, archival documents and photographs, visitors are guided through an interpretive journey that reflects an important chapter in Bahrain’s modern transformation. It’s part history lesson, part cultural reflection, and a thoughtful way to spend a morning or afternoon.
