What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Bahrain, and why?
The first word that comes to mind is “hospitality.” Bahrainis are known for their warmth and welcoming nature, making every visitor feel at home. This spirit of hospitality is deeply rooted in our culture and reflects our values.
Can you share a cherished memory that perfectly captures your love for Bahrain?
One of my favourite memories is participating in the National Day dances and songs during my childhood. The excitement of dressing up in traditional attire and celebrating with friends and family filled me with joy. The lively music and vibrant performances truly captured the spirit of our culture and deepened my love for Bahrain.
In your opinion, what does the future of Bahrain look like 10 years from now?
I envision Bahrain evolving into a vibrant hub of innovation and sustainability. With continued investment in technology and infrastructure, I believe we will see a flourishing economy that attracts global talent while preserving our rich cultural heritage.
If you could safeguard one aspect of Bahrain’s culture or heritage for future generations, what would it be?
I would safeguard our traditional crafts, especially weaving and pottery. These art forms not only represent our history but also embody the creativity and skill of our artisans. Preserving them ensures that future generations can connect with their roots.
Is there a Bahraini tradition or custom you wish the world could experience? Why do you think it’s so unique?
The tradition of family gatherings during weekends and special occasions. These gatherings are filled with laughter, storytelling, and shared meals, creating a deep sense of connection and community. It’s unique because it emphasizes the importance of family bonds and hospitality, showcasing how we come together to celebrate our heritage and create lasting memories.
Do you have a favourite spot in Bahrain? What makes it so special to you?
My favourite spot in Bahrain is definitely the beaches. The soft sand and clear blue waters create a perfect escape. Whether it’s enjoying a sunset with friends or a quiet day relaxing by the sea, beaches offer a serene atmosphere that makes them truly special to me. They are a beautiful reminder of Bahrain’s natural beauty and a place where I feel most at peace.
