Venturing out this weekend? Take note of these lane closures in Bahrain

The long weekend is almost here, and you may be planning for short trips in and around the city. While we recommend you maintain social distance and practise good hygiene while out and about, take note of these three lane closures during the upcoming weekend, to plan your route maps in advance.

  • The installation works of electrical cables on Avenue 35 near Zinj Area necessitate the closure of two lanes southbound. One lane will be provided for traffic movement. The closure will be effective from Thursday at 10 pm to Monday at 5 am.
  • The maintenance works of expansion joints on Saar Interchange necessitate the closure of some lanes in stages as follows:
    Stage 1: Closure of slow lane for northbound traffic going to Manama and two lanes will be provided for traffic movement on Friday from 12 am to 11:30 pm.
    Stage 2: Closure of slow lane for southbound traffic going to Riffa and two lanes will be provided for traffic movement starting from Saturday 12 am to Tuesday at 5 am.

  • The improvement works of Jasra Interchange necessitate the closure of some lanes in stages as follows:
    Stage 1: Closure of the ramp between Isa Bin Salman Highway and Janabiyah Highway for the northbound traffic going Budaiya and closure the ramp between Wali Al Ahed Highway and King Fahad Causeway starting from Thursday at 11 pm to Friday at 11pm.
    Stage 2: Closure of the fast lane on Al Jasra flyover and one lane will be provided for traffic movement starting from Friday at 11 pm to Sunday at 5 am.
