Tough new measures introduced in Bahrain – Here’s the list!

The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus held a press conference today, to provide an update on the COVID-19 response in the Kingdom.

Starting from Thursday 27/05/2021 midnight until Thursday 10th of June midnight:

  1. Shut Down of private gyms, sports facilities, swimming pools, beaches and entertainment areas
  2. Suspension of attendance of fans at sporting events
  3. Prohibition of home gatherings and events
  4. All government ministries at 30% capacity
  5. Closure of malls and retail stores
  6. Closure of all restaurants & cafes – Services to be limited to takeaways and delivery only
  7. Closure of all cinemas
  8. Prohibition of having any conferences and events
  9. Closure of salons, hairdressers and spas
  10. Closure of schools – study from home

The following shall remain open:

  1. Supermarkets and cold stores
  2. Fruit & Vegetable shops
  3. Fresh fish and butcheries
  4. Bakeries
  5. Petrol Stations and Natural gas filling shops
  6. Private hospitals subject to NHRA communication
  7. Pharmacies
  8. Telecommunication shops (Batelco, Zain, STC)
  9. Banks and Money exchanges
  10. Private companies and offices
  11. Import, export and distribution businesses
  12. Construction & Maintenance sector
  13. Factories
