Three Young Bahraini Leaders Are Representing the Kingdom at the First Global Youth Tourism Summit

Sara Janahi, Zainab Ibrahim, and Saud Sherida are Bahrain’s torchbearers for Sustainable Tourism. The three young leaders are representing the Kingdom at the International Global Youth Tourism Summit (GYTS) in Sorrento, Italy; a global initiative organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Empowering the Youth

Delegates from around the world are set to engage in a series of activities aligned with the 2030 SDGs. The summit begins on June 27th and ends on July 3rd. On the first day, the young delegates will get to experience a General Assembly Simulation, and Masterclasses on Youth Empowerment, Tourism-sports, and Tourism & Entrepreneurship.

The young Bahraini delegates were selected through a series of activities and projects related to the Kingdom’s tourism sector. BTEA (Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority) is sponsoring the three Bahraini delegates with an aim to empower the youth, listen to their ideas and integrate them into various programmes to develop Bahrain’s tourism sector.
