The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, in collaboration with the Saudi Fashion Commission, hosted a fashion event.
The two-part event, titled “From Saudi to the World”, consisted of a reception followed by a live fashion show. Combining a live catwalk with videos, visuals and music, the event immersed guests in the creative visions of three outstanding designers from the Fashion Commission’s Saudi 100 Brands program: Tima Abid, Arwa Alammari (of Aram) and Shahd Alshehail (of Abadia).
‘From Saudi to the World’ is the latest event by the Fashion Commission as they continue to spearhead the growth of the Kingdom’s fashion sector. Founded in 2020 by the Ministry of Culture, the Fashion Commission is dedicated to driving investment into the industry and building robust regulatory frameworks that will support the next generation of Saudi talent. The event further cemented Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading regional fashion hub with extraordinary talents and capabilities.
As part of the Saudi Pavilion’s ‘16 Windows’ program, ‘From Saudi to the World’ delivered an enriching experience that introduced the Kingdom’s burgeoning fashion sector. The ’16 Windows’ program aims to introduce visitors the Kingdom’s flourishing cultural sectors, including literature, publishing, translation, film, architecture and design, cultural festivals and events, theatre and performing arts, natural heritage, fashion, archaeological and cultural landscapes. It was developed in alignment with the four key pillars of the Saudi Pavilion: People, Opportunity, Heritage and Nature.
Having drawn in more than a quarter of all of Expo 2020 Dubai’s visitors, the Saudi Pavilion is one of the Expo’s most visited pavilions, with a footfall that has surpassed three million visitors. Located in the Opportunity District, the Pavilion’s record-breaking structure fuses state-of-the-art architecture with highly immersive digital technology to create a one-of-a-kind global platform for Saudi talent, culture and heritage.
