The Bahrain Grand Prix Weekend Recorded 99,000 Live Spectators!

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) broke its own records this year with an unprecedented crowd gathered to witness Race Day at the 2023 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix held on 5 March!

The 36,000 spectators who witnessed another incredible race under the lights in Sakhir was the highest single-day attendance in the race’s 19-year history, with a total of 99,500 attending over the weekend.

Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing marked his first victory at the Circuit on Sunday with his teammate, Sergio Perez taking second place on the podium. Veteran racing driver Fernando Alonso was the man to watch this Grand Prix as he reclaimed his spot on the podium, finishing the race third! The Aston Martin driver and two-time world champion is in his 22nd year with Formula One.

“Our sell-our crowd over the weekend reflects the incredible popularity of Formula 1 across the world. What is especially encouraging is that we are attracting more fans than ever before from overseas and also bringing in a new generation to the sport. Moreover, the passion of the Bahraini fans is as intense as I have ever seen,” said Arif Rahimi, Chairman of Bahrain International Circuit.

The three-day Grand Prix brought people from around the world together at the Bahrain International Circuit for the biggest event of the year! From roaming live acts to food and entertainment corners, spectators experienced all the action and thrill of racing over the weekend!
