Take Note of This List of Prohibited Treatments in Salons

The Ministry of Health announced the measures to be observed by salons, barbershops and beauty parlours to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to the announcement, customers can only go to the salon if they have a pre-booked appointment; no walk-ins will be allowed.

Salons must allow at least 20 minutes between appointments so that the staff may disinfect stations, chairs and equipment, thoroughly wash their hands, and re apply clean personal protective equipment (PPE).

The following treatments are currently prohibited:

  • Facial treatments
  • Using a hairdryer
  • Hair treatments that use a hair dryer (Keratin, Brazilian blow-out, protein, etc)
  • Threading
  • Microblading
  • Using needles
  • Spa services such as massages, oriental baths, etc.
  • Henna tattoos
  • Makeup application services
  • Tanning services
  • Applying eyelashes
  • Applying returnable hair extensions

Additionally, salons are not allowed to provide home services.
