Just recently, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay opened its reimagined re/ASIAN Cuisine restaurant as a part of their 50th floor dining concept. In addition to fine food and buzzing ambience, the restaurant highlights a Japanese-inspired Sushi Lounge. And of course, we had to try it!
The new Sushi Lounge flows directly into re/’s original restaurant and offers an elevated Asian dining experience with views and vibe to match. We loved the minimalist Japanese aesthetic as well as the statement pieces on display around the restaurant.
We arrived not knowing exactly what to expect, other than that every bit of chopstick and sushi etiquette we’ve ever learned would be put to the test.
The restaurant’s new menu offers a range of tantalising dishes. We sampled some of these but what really stood out the most were the following dishes:
- Hand Cut Salmon Rolls
- Spicy Tuna Tartare in Sesame Miso Cones
- Braised Beef Short Ribs Peanut “Rendang”
- Wok Fried Whole Black Sea Bass
- Chocolate Macadamia Pie
Moreover, guests can try equally delightful dishes like the Sichuan spinach with sesame brittle and chili oil; Tare glazed eggplant salad with Japanese pickles and citrus vinaigrette; and the Los Angeles’ popular vegetable-based sushi!
During our visit, Chef Hiroyuki Fujino, the executive sushi chef at Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining, was there to keep things livelier. He was so animated and passionate about each dish, but just as interested in speaking to and entertaining all of us.
We’ve been to many fine dining Asian restaurant but what we really loved about re/ASIAN was the vibe. The atmosphere was chill but bustling, even on a midweek! Meanwhile, the lush sofa seating, handcrafted cocktails and trendy beats definitely completed the high-rise, high-energy appeal.
At this point, it really hit us at that our visit to re/ASIAN was one of the most fun dining experiences we’ve had this year – not just because the food was phenomenal, but because everything was well thought out and executed. The attention to detail put into each bite by the team was a show unto itself. Will definitely be a regular!
