SUPER SPIDER: The Ferrari 296 GTS

Ferrari’s first-ever rear-wheel-drive hybrid 296 GTS is one of the most agile Ferraris we have driven on the roads of Bahrain. Cruising along rather silently on the west coast of the island, we began our drive from the stunning grounds of Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort and Spa. The convertible provides an incredibly powerful driving experience, packing a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, AKA “La piccolo v12” (“the small v12”).

It is without a doubt that Ferrari has produced a supercar that makes you feel like a super driver. The 14-second roof activation while driving puts you at the centre of attention. The V6 can produce 654 bhp. Add the electric motor, and the Spider produces a maximum of 516 lb-ft of torque, rocketing from zero to 100 kph in just 2.9 seconds.

Inside the two-seater, you’re surrounded by top-end interiors with touch-sensitive electronic pads. The cabin is stylish and driver-focused, with everything located exactly where you need it to be.
