French F1 driver Romain Grosjean has taken to Instagram to thank the medical staff that has helped him immediately after his Haas car pierced through a crash barrier, split in two and burst into a huge fireball at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
“Thanks to all the medical staff at the circuit and hospital and hopefully I can write you some messages,” he said in a short video viewed by about 2.6 million people.
“I wanted to say I am OK. Thank you very much for all the messages,” he said.
The 34-year-old was kept overnight at the Bahrain Defence Hospital (BDF) in Riffa, around 17 kilometers from the BIC, to receive treatment for his burned hands.
