Reviewing The Royal Golf Club’s new menu

Bahrain Confidential samples The Royal Golf Club’s newly-launched menu.

Links, located on the mezzanine floor of The Royal Golf Club’s Club House, is a large restaurant/lounge open to all visitors to the hotel. It features a cocktail bar, an outdoor terrace and floor to ceiling picture windows offering patrons spectacular views across the golf course. Just recently, we had the chance to try their revamped menu!

Upon entering Links Restaurant, we were greeted by the new Food and Beverage Manager, Kim. Hailing all the way from South Africa, the new F&B manager was very warm and friendly during our first meeting. Kim, along with the restaurant’s sous chef, Sudheesh, made sure that we were taken care of during the entire course with their exceptional service and attention to detail.

While admiring the stunning views of the golf course, we began our gastronomic adventure which commenced with a plate of the ‘Irish Black Mussels’ in a creamy garlic sauce and crunchy herb bread – we couldn’t have had a better start! We also had the ‘Baked Portobello Mushrooms’ with crumbed feta, mozzarella, garlic, toasted pine nut, rucola and balsamic vinegar. Our favorite, however, were the ‘Jalapeno Poppers’ which had cheese, bacon and a fresh salsa. The ‘Teriyaki Beef Satay’ was also a delightful start.

Moving on to the best part – the main course. We couldn’t get enough of Link’s vegetarian take on a famous Asian dish, Korean Fried Cauliflower’, that came with toasted sesame seeds and egg fried rice. This fun and vegetarian spin on Korean Fried Chicken was so delicious, it’s almost hard to believe that it was guilt-free! Among the other vegan options are the ‘Char-grilled Asparagus, ‘Creamy Tomato & Spinach Penne’, ‘Hoison Glazed Tofu Ramen’ and more! The restaurant even has a ‘Fresh Tomato & Goats Cheese’ pizza that is perfect for those who are craving for a lighter bite.

Furthermore, the service at Links was excellent. What’s even noteworthy is that the restaurant caters to a wider set of tastes because of its effort to incorporate some dietary restrictions and requirements to its menu.

Overall, we had an excellent experience at Links. It has always been one of our favorite (if not, our favorite) getaway restaurants on the island because of its picturesque view overlooking the golf course, especially during the day.

Dining at Links has once again, proved to be a wonderful delight with its fantastic menu options that cater to every taste and dietary restrictions.
