Painting Faces: Interview with makeup artist Farah Mohd

Tell us something about @farah.makeupartist, how did you get into the beauty industry?

It all started at a very young age – 14 years ago, I started doing makeup for my family and friends. I used to excel in arts at school so I was inspired to take my skills to the next level. What used to just be a hobby became a passion; I decided to build my career in the beauty industry from then on. At 24, I received my first international certificate as a makeup artist and now I am a certified artist from the London College of Makeup and Kryolan.

What services are you offering?

I have extensive experience in bridal makeup as well as the entourage. I also work on natural and glam looks for fashion, special effects, creative and onscreen makeup.

Where can people avail your services?

I am a freelance makeup artist so I offer home services and destination services for shoots, weddings, private events and fashion shows. I also have added work experience with MAC and am currently working for Toni & Guy as their Senior Makeup Artist.

Do u have any tips to those who are inspiring to be an artist as well?

Practice makes perfect. Educate yourself on the beauty industry, stay enthusiastic, assist other artists, and be passionate about your work. At the same time, you need to communicate with your clients, be original and up-to-date with the latest makeup trends. Most importantly, work hard and follow your dreams.

Are there any promotions you would like to add?

I have private makeup classes from basic to professional, special bridal packages, and offer for private events.
