Over 1,400 new coronavirus cases recorded in Bahrain

Out of 16293 COVID-19 tests carried out on 9 May 2021, 1451 new cases have been detected in Bahrain. Of these, 514 were expatriate workers, 933 were contacts of active cases, and 4 were travel related.

Seven people died yesterday, taking the death toll to 685. It included four expat men, aged 38, 69, 60 and 59; two Bahraini men, 85 and 73; and a Bahraini woman, 65. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions.

There were 975 recoveries , increasing total to 175332.

There are currently 129 cases in a critical condition, and 248 cases receiving treatment. 13210 are stable out of a total of 13339 active cases.
