From decadent sweets to that fiery chili oil, Oh My Goodies has been making a buzz in the local scene. Just recently, we had the chance to interview its owner, Andy Anderson to know more about it.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What inspired you to start baking?
I’m Andy and I run a home based business with my husband called Oh My Goodies BH. My husband helped me rediscover my love for baking. I love experimenting with new recipes for him to try out.
When was the first time you remember baking something?
When I was about 10 years old, my mother taught me how to make brownies for a Christmas Party at school and if I must say, it was an instant hit with my classmates. This started my interest in baking, I found the whole experience enjoyable.
Do you have any tips for aspiring home bakers who are hesitant to start?
I’m not a professional baker and I only learn from my own hits and misses. I would tell home bakers that you have to be patient and don’t be afraid to be creative. You may not master it the first few times but don’t give up! Following a recipe is fine but you can add your own little touches to make it more personal.

On a different note, where is your favourite place in Bahrain and why?
My favorite place in Bahrain has to be Block 338, I love food and trying out different cuisines.
