A recent statistic issued by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) revealed that the number of tourists visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain increased by various percentages.
The statistic study indicated that the number of visitors to the Kingdom through the Bahrain International airport (BIA) increased by 18.6% in the last quarter of 2019 in comparison with the same period of 2018, reaching 283,985 visitors.
The statistic study stated that there were 42,884 visitors to Bahrain by sea(an increase of 45.7%) and 2,220,360 visitors by land(a decrease of 16.4 percent). The study also pointed out that the average tourist stay witnessed an increase of 6% in the fourth quarter of 2019.
According to the indicators of incoming tourism for the fourth quarter of last year, it was obvious that the largest tourism by visitors amounted to 48% for shopping. Those visiting the Kingdom for the purpose of health care, according to the Inbound Tourism Index in the last quarter of last year reached 3%. The same index stated that those visiting the Kingdom for other purposes were 2%, while the arrival for education and training got the lowest rate with 0.4%.
