Bahrain is consolidating its government apps, and if you have been juggling separate platforms to manage public services, that is about to get simpler.
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has confirmed the full migration of services from the “Islamiyat” mobile application into the government’s unified MyGov app, the latest move in an ongoing push to bring public services together under fewer, better-designed platforms.
The idea is straightforward: rather than asking residents to manage a growing collection of government apps, Bahrain is consolidating the most-used services into three core platforms. MyGov is built for individuals and residents. AlTajir is geared towards businesses and investors. Bahrain handles the needs of visitors to the Kingdom. Each has a clear audience, and each is designed to replace the fragmented experience that came before it.
The MyGov app is available through the Bahrain eGovernment Apps Store at bahrain.bh/apps.
Ali Abdulaziz Janahi, Deputy Chief Executive for eTransformation at the iGA, framed the migration as part of something larger than a single app update. The goal, he said, is to position MyGov as the primary digital gateway for government services in Bahrain, with more services to be added in line with public priorities.
The initiative sits under the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, chaired by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and is being rolled out in coordination with government entities across the board.
For residents, the payoff is practical: fewer apps to download, fewer accounts to maintain, and a more consistent experience when accessing government services online. The consolidation is expected to reduce duplication, improve efficiency, and make the whole process of dealing with government administration considerably less laborious.
It is the kind of infrastructure upgrade that rarely makes headlines but quietly improves the rhythm of daily life, and in Bahrain’s case, it is a signal that digital governance here is being taken seriously.
