March Movie Releases: Your Guide to What’s Showing Across Bahrain’s Cinemas

Bahraincover

March is shaping up to be a good month across cinema halls in Bahrain. With new movie releases bringing sci-fi spectacles, classic horror sequels, animated goodness, or something a little more unexpected, there’s plenty to get excited about.

Here’s our pick of the biggest releases heading to Bahrain’s screens this month.

March Movie Releases: What To Watch in Bahrain

Marty Supreme

  • Release Date: 12 March 2026
  • Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Odessa A’zion, Gwyneth Paltrow
  • Language: English

Timothée Chalamet is back with another bold role, this time as Marty Mauser, a young dreamer chasing greatness against all odds. The premise is deliberately vague, but early buzz suggests a raw, character-driven story about ambition and resilience. If you’ve followed Chalamet’s recent run of transformative performances, this one’s worth keeping an eye on.

Hoppers

  • Release Date: 19 March 2026
  • Starring: Jon Hamm, Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan
  • Language: English

This one’s a curveball. An animal lover uses technology to place her consciousness into a robotic beaver, yes, a robotic beaver, to explore mysteries hidden within the animal kingdom. It sounds wild, and with Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan on the cast list, you can expect some sharp humour alongside the adventure. One for families and anyone who enjoys something a little offbeat.

Scream 7

  • Release Date: 19 March 2026
  • Starring: Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, Isabel May
  • Language: English

The franchise that refuses to stay dead is back, and this time, the original final girl herself is at the centre of it all. Sidney Prescott has built a quiet new life, but a fresh Ghostface killer emerges, and her daughter becomes the next target. Both Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox return, which should please long-time fans who felt the series had lost its way without them. Expect the usual self-aware scares and plenty of callbacks to the original.

Project Hail Mary

  • Release Date: 19 March 2026
  • Starring: Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung
  • Language: English

This is the one a lot of people have been waiting for. Based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel (the author behind The Martian), Project Hail Mary follows science teacher Ryland Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, who wakes up alone on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or why he’s there. As his memory slowly returns, he realises he’s on a mission to save Earth from a mysterious substance that’s killing the sun. It’s a story about science, survival and an unexpected friendship that changes everything. If you loved The Martian’s blend of humour and tension, this should be right up your street.

The Strangers: Chapter 3

  • Release Date: 19 March 2026
  • Starring: Richard Brake, Madelaine Petsch, Janis Ahern
  • Language: English

The final chapter of The Strangers trilogy closes things out as survivors face new threats from the masked intruders. Secrets surface, stakes rise, and the line between safety and danger gets thinner by the minute. If you’ve been following the rebooted trilogy, this is where it all wraps up.

Where to Watch: Bahrain’s Cinema Scene

Bahrain has quietly built a solid cinema culture over the years, and there’s no shortage of options when it comes to finding a screen that suits you. Whether you’re after premium seating, IMAX or just somewhere close to home, the island has you covered.

Cineco has been a fixture in Bahrain since 1968 and operates five locations across Juffair, Seef, Al Hamra, Wadi Al Sail and Al Liwan. It’s a reliable choice with a wide range of screenings and the kind of consistency you appreciate when you just want a straightforward night at the movies.

VOX Cinemas at City Centre Bahrain in Seef and The Avenues in Manama takes things up a notch with premium formats including THEATRE, GOLD and MAX screens with Dolby Atmos sound. It was the first cinema in the Middle East to introduce IMAX with Laser and Sapphire technology, and also offers 4DX for fully immersive, multi-sensory viewing. The MAX screens feature spacious seating with extra legroom, armrests, side tables and top-tier surround sound.

Cinépolis has two locations at Atrium Mall in Saar and Amwaj Islands, offering modern screens and a growing selection of films. A good option if you’re on the west side of the island or out in Amwaj.

EPIX at Dana Mall in Sanabis is well worth knowing about, with 10 screens and over 1,100 seats ranging from intimate setups to multi-level balcony seating.

Mukta Cinema at Juffair Mall is the only Indian cinema chain operating internationally, founded by filmmaker Subhash Ghai. It focuses on quality multiplex experiences at affordable prices and typically shows a strong selection of Bollywood releases alongside mainstream titles. If you’re a fan of Indian cinema, this is your spot.

Most cinemas now have their showtimes and bookings available on their websites or apps, so check there for the latest listings. March is looking good for movie lovers.
