Keeta has just announced new relief for local restaurants on the island falling under the small and medium enterprise (SME) categories. The platform has just made things a little easier for the people behind these small local businesses with a 30-day commission reduction. The reduced commission runs from 6 April to 5 May and applies to restaurant partners operating in 5 or fewer locations.
Over 2000 brands on the platform are covered under this initiative.
For the small restaurants and cafés that make up so much of daily life in Bahrain, delivery platform fees are a real operational cost. A temporary commission cut gives these businesses more room to keep doing what they do without the pressure of absorbing high platform fees at the same time.
Both existing partners and businesses that join Keeta during the programme window are eligible, so there is an incentive for new operators to come on board too.
Bahrain’s small business community is what gives the Kingdom so much of its character. The local bakala, the family-run restaurant, the home-based food business that started with an Instagram page. These are the places that shape neighbourhoods, and any support that helps them stay visible and accessible through delivery platforms is worth paying attention to.
Aiden Qiao, General Manager of Keeta Bahrain, said the company’s focus remains on building a strong ecosystem for local businesses, adding that small and medium-sized businesses are at the heart of everyday life in the Kingdom.
