As the weather cools down and evenings outdoors become more appealing again, karting is one of the easiest ways to get an adrenaline fix in Bahrain. It doesn’t take years of training, expensive kit or a racing licence to get on a track. Whether you’re chasing your first lap time or you already race competitively, there are a few different circuits around the island worth knowing about.
The Home of World Championship Karting
Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) is the first karting track in the world to host a CIK-FIA world championship race at night.
Located next to the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, BIKC opened in 2011 and has since been approved to host several world championship events under the Commission Internationale de Karting-Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (CIK-FIA). The main track measures 1.414 km with 14 turns and meets the standards required for international competition.

What You Can Do There
BIKC isn’t reserved for professional racers. Alongside championship events, it’s set up for grassroots karting, corporate team days and complete beginners trying the sport for the first time. Regular offerings include:
- Track sessions for casual and experienced drivers
- The Formula 1-inspired Mini Grand Prix, with qualifying and a final race
- Endurance karting sessions
- Driver training programmes
- Off-track activities alongside the karting

Other Places to Try Karting in Bahrain
BIKC isn’t the only option if you want to get behind the wheel. Two more tracks are worth knowing about.
Trax
Trax, at Bahrain Mall in Sanabis, is billed as the world’s largest multi-level indoor e-karting track.
The custom-built 500-metre circuit runs across multiple floors and is wide enough for three karts to race side by side. It runs on a floor charging system rather than petrol, with a layout built for speed and drifting rather than endurance racing. It’s a solid indoor alternative to BIKC, particularly on days when you’d rather not drive out to Sakhir.
Adhari Park
Adhari Park in Manama has an outdoor karting track alongside its wider amusement park attractions.
It’s been one of Bahrain’s main family entertainment venues for years, with rides, a bowling alley and dining options built around the karting circuit. It suits visitors who want a high-thrill session as part of a longer family day out, rather than a dedicated racing trip.
