There’s almost nothing more heartbreaking in the beauty world than when one of your favorite products gets discontinued or its formula changes beyond recognition, but that’s exactly what happened to fans of Huda Beauty when the popular Rose Gold Palette was discontinued last year. It all started with an Instagram post from Huda Kattan herself stating that fans should purchase the palette while they could, as it could be their last chance to own it. The palette was shelved shortly after in October 2017, followed by the launch of the gorgeous Desert Dusk Palette — but fans still missed the original Rose Gold Palette. Well, good news — it’s coming back.
The Huda Beauty Instagram account posted two back-to-back posts about the upcoming launch with a ton of information about the decision to bring back the popular palette. The caption for the first post explains in detail why the first palette was discontinued, saying,
“Everyone who knows me, knows how important our original Rose Gold Palette was to us, but when we launched it, we really had to invest everything into the Palette and couldn’t invest in things like packaging & innovation! That year 2016, I actually couldn’t afford to pay myself salary, because this Palette was such a huge project for us!”
It seems like Kattan put the brand ahead of her own needs and in the end, wanted only to put the highest quality products out into the world.
