Highest daily Covid-19 cases of 3,177 detected in Bahrain

Out of 20,814 COVID-19 tests carried out on 23 May 2021, 3,177 new cases have been detected in Bahrain.

Of these, 1,071 expatriate workers, 2,099 new cases are contacts of active cases, and 7 travel related.

There were 1,548 recoveries, increasing total to 194,885.

Nine Bahrainis (five men, aged 90, 61, 62, 80 and 87; and four women 50, 81, 73 and 52) died yesterday, taking the death toll to 820. Two expats (men, 34 and 78) also died of coronavirus. No information was provided on the ages of those who died or if they suffered any preexisting health conditions.

There are currently 186 cases in a critical condition, and 362 cases receiving treatment. 22,156 are stable out of a total of 22,342 active cases.
