The Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry is expected to construct Hamad Town Central Market soon. A new tender has been launched and eight bids have been received.

Meanwhile, work to revamp the Manama Central Market is gaining pace. According to the ministry officials, the work is expected to be completed by mid-2020. In another development, it was revealed that 85 shops will be located in the revamped Jidhafs Central Market.
The development of Sitra market has been highly requested by citizens as the historic market faced many limitations which irked the public, hence authorities have revealed that Sitra market will undergo a revamp and the project is now in a feasibility study. It was also recently announced that the government is studying the possibility of establishing a new livestock market in Sitra area near Bandar Al Dar.
The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and capital municipal are working hard to develop markets to meet the demands made by citizens.
