Gulf Air just landed in the heart of East Africa and it’s making quite the entrance! After more than a decade, Bahrain’s national carrier has officially returned to Nairobi, bringing back a long-missed route with a splash. The plane was greeted with a water salute at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The launch marks Gulf Air’s latest move in expanding its global network, reconnecting Bahrain to Kenya’s bustling capital and opening up a world of travel possibilities for both business and leisure travellers. Whether you’re chasing safari adventures or business deals, this new connection makes it all a little easier.
The arrival celebration included a warm welcome from Kenyan airport officials and a ceremonial reception on the tarmac — proving that Bahrain and Kenya are ready to rekindle travel ties in style.
Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Gulf Air Group stated, “The launch of our Nairobi service marks a significant milestone in Gulf Air’s strategic growth journey. Africa represents a key growth market for the airline, and our expansion into the continent reflects our long-term vision to build a broader, more connected network that meets the evolving needs of our passengers and contributes to our regional development.”
While commenting on the arrival, Ag. Managing Director of Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), Nicolas Bodo, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gulf Air back to Nairobi. This renewed partnership not only strengthens the ties between Kenya and the Kingdom of Bahrain but also reaffirms Nairobi’s position as a gateway to Africa. The new service will enhance connectivity, create opportunities for trade and tourism, and provide our passengers with greater choice.”
With this new route, Gulf Air adds another exciting chapter to its growth journey — and gives travellers one more reason to pack their bags.
