It’s been a heavy few weeks for just about everyone in our corner of the world, more so from a mental health perspective. While we’re used to the fast-paced, dynamic, ever-lively life in the GCC, the constant hum of uncertainty and the weight of the regional situation have made it harder to just keep calm and carry on.
For the young ones, while more resilient, curious, and smart, that pressure tends to be even more intense. For adults, who may also find themselves navigating parenthood through the uncertainties, there’s much to learn. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, there’s a new digital space built specifically to carry some of that load with you.
The Elggo Relief Hub has just soft-launched, and it’s a total breath of fresh air for mental health support in the Arab world. Unlike most platforms, Elggo is offering a door-wide-open initiative. It is completely free, bilingual, and most importantly, instant.
Whether it’s a student stressed about the future or a parent trying to navigate these tricky times with their kids, this hub is designed to help everyone.
What makes this mental health hub different from the generic advice we often find online? For starters, it’s created right in the region, specifically for the community. That includes citizens and residents who call this region home. That’s important from a cultural point of view. The help is designed for those navigating life in this region’s context. Being a bilingual, evidence-based platform, Elggo is designed with regional psychologists to keep the resources as culturally relevant as possible.
The best part is the no-barrier approach. We know how frustrating it is to face long waitlists or complicated registration forms when you just need someone to talk to. The Relief Hub has eliminated all of that. There’s no registration, no procurement, and no waiting. You just log on and get the support you need, whether that’s through their Free AI Journal, a resource directory, or even free group sessions.
Elggo was established by two Lebanese founders who know firsthand what it’s like to live in conflict zones: Mirna Mneimneh and Luma Makari.
Mirna has spent nearly two decades in the tech space, developing products that help people. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family in Lebanon, Mirna developed resilience firsthand through years of geopolitical and economic challenges.
Mirna’s background is diverse; she has been a human rights advocate and has worked with refugees and Alzheimer’s patients. She co-founded Elggo because she saw a significant gap in how mental health was addressed for youth in the MENA region, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 Beirut Blast. Her vision is simple yet bold: to heal emotional pain and build resilience for the next generation.
Luma was the heart behind the Elggo Relief Hub. Her work sat at the intersection of mental health, education systems, and technology, with a focus on how preventive approaches have been shaped in Arab contexts. She championed culturally compatible, evidence-based, and measurable interventions without losing the human texture of how communities heal.
That philosophy shaped a track record of practical work. In Beirut, Luma built a school for 300 migrant learners, matched 5,000 coders across the Levant to remote work pathways, and supported 4,500 individuals with relief aid following the Beirut Blast on 4 August 2020. She has since been instrumental in integrating Elggo into schools and organisations across the region. Luma also guest lectures at Parsons School of Design on scaling mental health interventions globally.
While the Elggo Relief Hub is designed to support 12 to 25, it’s also a valuable resource for caregivers. Parents can access tools to support their families through difficult times, and educators receive resources they can share with students immediately. Even if you aren’t seeking support yourself, Elggo is seeking psychologists, NGOs, and influencers to help spread the word and expand this safety net.
The platform has already reached over 16,000 young people across the region and is endorsed by major organisations like the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). It’s professional, it’s proven, and most importantly, it’s here for us.
If you or someone you know is feeling the pressure, don’t wait. You can visit relief.elggo.com right now and start exploring. In a world that feels loud and uncertain, having a place to turn is the ultimate relief.
