If you’re a first-time filmmaker in Bahrain, wanting to learn the nuances of successfully producing your feature film, here’s an exciting opportunity by the French Embassy in Bahrain and the Bahrain Cinema Club.
Produire au Sud is a regional residency training program on international co-production that will focus on scriptwriting, co-financing, and co-development strategies. The program, set to be held in Dubai in February 2025, will bring together duos of one filmmaker and one producer to learn and master the art of filmmaking alongside French and international experts.
As a precursor to the main training program, the French Embassy is hosting a meeting this Thursday, 5 pm at the Bahrain Cinema Club where Lucas Taillefer, Executive Director of the Produire au Sud program, and Valérie Fouques, Regional Audiovisual Attaché will explain objectives of the workshop and answer queries from prospective participants.
This opportunity, fully sponsored by the French Embassy, is a tremendous professional springboard for up-and-coming Bahraini cinema professionals to help them find financing for a first film, strategically approach the market and build their network.
If you wish to join the meeting online, keep a lookout on the Instagram pages of the French Embassy @francebahrein and the Bahrain Cinema Club @bahraincineclub for the link.
The workshop is part of the long-standing cooperation between France and Bahrain in the field of cinema, focused on capacity building for professionals in the film and media sectors, and the sharing of expertise between Bahrain and France.
