The price we pay for love is grief – Bahraini music artist, Abdulla Mahmood AKA Whatsmahmood’s latest single has premiered on all streaming platforms and reveals to us the bittersweet nature of human connection. The thought-provoking new release, titled “Feel Alright” dropped on 27th October, with a music video directed by the artist himself.
Delving into the subject of soulmate connection, Feel Alright is the funk maverick’s second single after Goosebumps was released in July this year. Showcasing his signature sound that blends atmospheric synths and funky bass to create a unique listening experience, Feel Alright, according to the artist “encourages us to embrace the full spectrum of the human emotion.”
“Of course, I’m excited to release [Feel Alright], especially after releasing Goosebumps earlier this year and the support and turnout it got around the region,” said Whatsmahmood. “When we understand the potential for grief, we can truly appreciate the beauty and depth of love even more, and I can’t wait to see how people connect with it.”
The latest release is based on the popular adage, “The price we pay for love is grief” and explores the idea that the deeper we love someone, the greater the potential for pain when that love is lost or challenged. The accompanying music video is a visually symbolic masterpiece that complements the song’s mood and lyrics. Filmed in various locations in Bahrain, the video features nature in various forms and above.
