The artisan behind Wood is Head Pizza Chef Sergio Mangani who is from Napoli, Italy. Chef Sergio cooks authentic Italian recipes from his home using a wood-fire oven from Italy.
A great pizza starts with its crust – it should be thin, crisp and eaten straight from the oven. Neapolitan pizza is normally baked around 2 to 3 minutes in high heat. Chef Sergio uses completely fresh and quality flour imported from Italy. The Wood Special Pizza didn’t fail to impress us! It definitely was a blockbuster with its pepperoni, cream, mozzarella cheese, onion, jalapeño and chili & ranch dressing. We also tried the Margherita pizza which is composed of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Its simple yet strong and distinct flavours left a long-lasting impression on us.
Served as a first course or primo like Italians do, the Pesto pasta we had was as satisfying as a main. The basil pesto sauce was really delightful and was even more mouth-watering with parmesan cheese. The penne pasta was a perfect al dente as it was cooked upon order like their pizzas. It was truly one of the most excellently cooked pastas we’ve ever had. The food serving is great and is very reasonable with the price of BD 1 for small, BD2 for medium and BD3 for large!
