People aged 60 below are most number of people infected in Bahrain, according to the Ministry of Health’s contact tracing data.
The coronavirus pandemic has infected 87% of people below the age of 60 years, contrary to global reports that the disease affects those above the age 60 the most. Meanwhile 13% of those infected by the virus belong to the age group of 60 above. Only 6% of people aged 17 below have been affected by the virus.
Taking a deeper look at the statistics among the positive cases, more women have been affected by the virus than men. Men account for the 62% in positive cases, while women with a lesser percentage of 38%.
The public is urged not to panic as the government is continuously taking necessary measures to maintain the safety of Bahrain’s residents. With one of the highest recovery rates in the world, Bahrain has emerged as a leader in the fight against COVID-19.
