Good News! You can renew your CPR from anywhere in the world
Here’s how to do it:
Check the expiration date on your card. Generally, it is good to renew one month before expiration. Once renewed, the CPR is valid for 5 years.

The MyGov app brings a wide range of government services together in one place, including applying for or renewing your CPR. Before you can log in, make sure you’ve installed the eKey 2.0 app, as it’s required to access MyGov.

Logged in? Great. You’ll know you’re in when you see your name in the top-left corner and your CPR info is front and centre.
Now, tap on the “Identity” section, marked by a red card-shaped icon. From there, choose “ID Card Issuance Services.”

Ready to roll? Hit the “Start Service” button to begin. You’ll be asked to enter your CPR number, then just follow the prompts.
At this stage, you’ll also need to upload any required documents, so make sure you’ve got them handy. A few taps and you’re one step closer to being done!
The wait isn’t long, especially if you’re an expat registered with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). In most cases, your renewed CPR will be ready within seven working days.

If you’d rather skip the apps and go old-school, no worries. You can still renew your CPR the traditional way with a quick trip to the renewal centre. Here’s how:
Even for the in-person route, you’ll need to download the MyGov and eKey 2.0 apps first.
Once logged in, tap the “Catalogue” tab next to “My Profile”, then find “Identity”.
Hit “ID card appointments booking and enquiry” and lock in your appointment.
You can visit the Identity Card Service Centre either in Isa Town or at Seef Mall (both spots handle CPR renewals).
Make a note of the opening times:
Sunday – Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Self-Service (Isa Town) 24 hours

If you’re reading this in the parking lot without an ID photo, don’t panic! You’ll be guided to the on-site photo studio where you can get one taken for a fee.
Pay the fee – BD 1, BD 2, or BD 10, and you’re all set!
Pro Tip! Fast Track can be used for an additional fee of BD 10.
