The Bahrain Metro Project is set to revolutionise public transportation in the country as officials reveal that a section of the network will be operational in two years. The ambitious project will require partnerships with commercial businesses both domestic and international to come to fruition.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be developing the Bahrain Metro Phase 1 Project, according to an Indian media source. The project will include a 20-station, 3030-kilometer network, with four metro lines to be analyzed in two phases, including two interchanges at the metro intersection of Bab Al Bahrain and Al Farooq.
The first metro line will run from Bahrain International Airport to Seef Mall, with nine stops and a length of 13 km. The second metro line will provide service between Juffair and Isa Town, connecting Salmaniya, Zinj, and Tubli, among other locations.
