Bahrain records 1,369 new Covid-19 cases from 14,253 tests

Out of 14,253 Covid-19 tests carried out on 14 May 2021, 1,369 new cases have been detected among 442 expatriate workers, 911 new cases are contacts and 16 travel related.

Bahrain also recorded 17 Covid-19-related deaths, the highest number of daily deaths recorded since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The deaths were recorded among six female citizens aged 86, 79, 76, 68, 63, and 51; seven male expats aged 89, 52(2), 50, 49, 35, and 33; four male citizens aged 70, 68, 66, and 52.

No further information was provided on whether they suffered any pre-existing conditions.

There are currently 163 cases in critical condition and 101 receiving treatment. 15,342 are stable out of a total of 15,505 active cases.
