Coffee lovers, this one’s for you. Bahrain is getting its very own Coffee Festival this December, and it’s happening at Exhibition World Bahrain from 9 to 13 December. Five days dedicated entirely to celebrating everything coffee. Yes, please.
Whether you’re the type who orders the same latte every morning or someone who’s genuinely curious about pour-over techniques and tasting notes, there’s something here for you. The festival is designed for everyone: casual coffee drinkers, families looking for something fun to do, and serious coffee enthusiasts alike.

The festival is all about hands-on experiences. At the brew bar, you can watch live demonstrations of different brewing methods. See how a proper V60 pourover is done, or try a coffee mocktail (yes, that’s a thing). It’s your chance to taste, learn, and maybe discover a new way to make coffee at home.
There’s a cultural side too. The Arabic Coffee Protocol session dives into the traditions around one of our region’s most beloved drinks. There’s even a Mini Coffee Museum if you want to learn about coffee’s journey from bean to cup. And when you need a break, head to the Coffee & Music Lounge to just sit back and enjoy the vibe.
Want to up your coffee game? The festival is running workshops on everything from basic home brewing to latte art for beginners. You can learn about specialty coffee, explore the aroma and tasting wheel, and figure out what all those flavour notes on coffee bags actually mean. They’re practical sessions that’ll help you make better coffee in your own kitchen.
If you’re competitive or just enjoy watching talented people do their thing, the festival has several coffee challenges lined up. The Latte Art Throwdown is where baristas compete to pour the most beautiful designs. It’s genuinely impressive to watch.
There’s also a Cup Taster Challenge where people test their ability to identify different coffees, plus a Barista Speed Challenge and Home Brewer Challenge. Think of it as a caffeine-fueled version of those cooking competitions you binge-watch, except it’s happening live.
Some of Bahrain’s best-loved coffee spots will be there. You’ll find Cortado, Black Slider Cafe, Guji Speciality Coffee, Paramount, Baku Bakery, Cantata, Beanz, Rise Bakehouse, and White Elephant Roastery. It’s a great chance to try brews from places you haven’t visited yet and support local businesses that are putting Bahrain’s coffee scene on the map.
Coffee culture has exploded everywhere over the past few years, and Bahrain’s been quietly building its own scene. This festival is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and a chance to push things even further.
December is also the perfect time for it. The weather’s beautiful, the island’s in full celebration mode, and honestly, what better way to spend a few hours than exploring different coffees and learning something new?
You don’t need to be a coffee snob to enjoy this. Whether you want to learn proper brewing techniques, watch some friendly competition, or just try a bunch of different coffees in one place, the Bahrain Coffee Festival has you covered.
Mark your calendar for 9 to 13 December at Exhibition World Bahrain. Five days of great coffee, local talent, and plenty of reasons to stay caffeinated. Don’t miss it.
