Here is what you need to know.
Event Details
- Date: Friday | 2 October 2026
- Time: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- Venue: Black22 Coffee Bar & Roastery, Marassi Galleria Mall, Bahrain
The event runs for five hours, so there is plenty of time to settle in. Friday is also a weekend day in Bahrain, which makes it an easy one to fit into your plans. The announcement does not mention ticket prices, spectator access or the running order, so check with Black22 closer to the date.

What to Expect from the Competition
The AeroPress is a compact, portable coffee maker popular with home brewers and baristas. In the championship, brewers compete to make the best cup, showing off their creativity, precision and love for coffee while you watch it happen live.
The focus is on technique and taste, not scripts, stagecraft or hard-to-get gear. That keeps things friendly. If you have ever tweaked a recipe at home to get your morning cup just right, you will feel at ease here.
Watching is half the fun. You can see how each brewer handles the process, notice the small choices they make, and compare notes with the person next to you.
A Route to the World Final
Bahrain’s championship is part of a much bigger picture. National and regional events across the season feed into the World Final, where champions compete on the world stage.
The prize on offer is an expenses-paid trip to Mexico City on 6 December. For anyone who has been perfecting a recipe, that is a big incentive to register. The event also gives local brewers a clear goal to work towards, and gives the rest of us a reason to cheer.
About the World AeroPress Championship
It is the world’s largest coffee-making competition, and it started small. In 2008, three people in Oslo got it going. Today, nearly 8,000 competitors from 70 countries take part in over 230 events every year.
Tens of thousands of people go along in person, and millions more follow online. It is a community-driven event, and people show up because they love coffee.
About the Venue
Black22 Coffee Bar & Roastery is hosting, and the setting suits the occasion. As the name says, it is both a coffee bar and a roastery. Set within Marassi Galleria Mall, it’s a great way to explore shops, stop for a sip of coffee, or indulge in one of the many restaurants on-site, while making a night of it.
You do not need to enter the competition to enjoy the evening. Head over to Black22, try a few cups and cheer on the brewers. If you are new to specialty coffee, it is an easy way to see how much technique changes a cup.
Because it runs into the evening, it also works as a relaxed night out with friends who like coffee as much as you do. It is also a chance to meet other coffee fans and pick up ideas for your own brewing at home.
