Bahrain: Active cases reach peak; 841 new cases announced

Bahrain reported 841 new cases, the highest ever daily increase since the beginning of pandemic. Previously the highest daily increase was on Sept 10 with 757 new cases.

Out of 12299 COVID-19 tests carried out on 16 September 2020, 841 new cases have been detected among 124 expatriate workers, 716 new cases are contacts of active cases, and 1 is travel related. There were 613 recoveries, increasing total to 55444.

There are currently 38 cases in a critical condition, and 140 cases receiving treatment. 6786 cases are stable out of a total of 6824 active cases.
