Autumn Fair is Returning to Bahrain and Here’s All You Need To Know

Bahrain’s largest shopping festival is back for its 36th year, and if you’re planning to head down, here’s what to expect.

What is the Autumn Fair?

The Autumn Fair has been running for over 35 years, making it one of Bahrain’s longest-standing retail events. Held at Exhibition World Bahrain in Zallaq, the 10-day festival brings together local, regional, and international brands under one roof. This year’s edition is the biggest yet, spanning four halls with hundreds of exhibitors showcasing everything from fashion and beauty to home décor, electronics, textiles, toys, and food.

It’s less about window shopping and more about finding what you actually need – whether that’s stocking up for Ramadan, picking up unique gifts, or simply browsing global products you won’t find elsewhere in Bahrain.

What’s new this year?

This edition introduces a few fresh elements. There’s a new African Pavilion featuring products and culture from multiple African nations, alongside a Turkish Pavilion highlighting authentic Turkish goods and traditions. The food and beverage section has also been expanded, with over 10 outlets now housed in Hall 2, plus a larger seating area if you need a break between browsing.

There’s also a dedicated cultural stage in Hall 2 where you’ll find performances and appearances by Dabdoub and his sister Dabdouba—the event’s mascots. They’ll be handing out gifts, taking photos, and generally adding to the family-friendly atmosphere throughout the 10 days.

When is it on?

The Autumn Fair runs from 22 to 31 January 2025. Most days follow a split schedule: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, then 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Sunday, 25 January and Monday, 26 January, feature ladies-only sessions during the morning slot. The final two days – Friday, 30 and Saturday, 31 January run continuously from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

What can you buy?

The range is broad. You’ll find premium Yemeni honey, Korean beauty and lifestyle products, traditional textiles, kitchenware, and electronics. If you’re preparing for Ramadan, this is a solid time to stock up on specialty ingredients and decorative items.

Beyond spices and homeware, there are also fashion stalls, toys, crafts, and plenty of one-off items you won’t stumble across in regular Bahrain shopping centres.

What else is in the area?

Exhibition World Bahrain sits in Zallaq, which means you’ve got a few other attractions nearby if you’re making a day of it. The Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park is just in the area – ideal if you’ve got kids in tow. Zallaq Springs offers a more laid-back experience with natural springs and greenery. The Bahrain International Circuit is also close by, as is Gravity, Bahrain’s indoor skydiving centre. If you’re after something low-key, Bilaj Al Jazair public beach is a short drive away.

Is it worth going?

If you’re looking for variety, deals, and a chance to browse international brands without leaving Bahrain, the Autumn Fair delivers. It’s not boutique shopping – it’s a sprawling, bustling event where the appeal is in the sheer range of what’s on offer. Expect crowds, especially during peak hours and on weekends, but also expect to find things you didn’t know you needed.

Whether you’re restocking your kitchen, hunting for gifts, or just curious about what’s on show this year, it’s a straightforward day out with plenty to keep the whole family occupied.
